Megan Evans
Ophthalmic Technician
Megan has been working in the optical industry for 40 years and over 30 of those have been with Dr. DeForrest! She is an expert in helping patients choose the perfect frame, helping with contact lenses, and answering any and all ophthalmic questions.
As Dr. DeForrest’s longtime ophthalmic technician, she knows our entire book of patients as if they’re her family. Megan is an invaluable team member who bridges the gap between your optical, medical and pharmaceutical needs.
Megan is our resident expert regarding ocular supplementation and can answer your questions regarding our full line of MacuHealth products including anti-oxidants for macular and vitreous health and Omega-3’s for dry eye. Come in for your personal anti-oxidant measurement!

Veronica Colon
Optician
Veronica joined the practice in 2008 with a strong recommendation from Dr. DeForrest’s very first employee, Miss Essie! She and Essie had previously worked together, where she had proven herself as knowledgeable, kind, and reliable.
We’re so grateful for Veronica and her ability to bond everyone together. Her personality is warm and loving and her optical training is top notch. She is eternally patient and will fit you with the perfect frame.
Veronica is also an ophthalmic tech for Dr. DeForrest. This balance between the “front of the house and the back office” makes Veronica a well-rounded and most valuable staff member.

Omega Browne
Billing Specialist/Admin
Omega comes to us on recommendation from Veronica! (Do you see a pattern here?!)
Omega has been in the Optical industry since 2002 where she worked in her homeland country of Guyana. She’s been with Dr. DeForrest since 2011, completely taking charge of our billing department.
Omi’s brilliance shines through in billing, pharmaceutical knowledge, computer expertise, insurance and referral navigation, and divine organizational skills.
We couldn’t live without her, as she helps with patient care in the optical department, contact lens training and ordering, and is a brilliant ambassador to our Vision Source meetings. Omega is a warm soul, deeply caring for everyone here in the office as well as for you, our dear patients. You can find her helping in every aspect of our office.
Norma Toledo
Billing Specialist
Norma is our new hire (it’s a joke!) she’s also a long-timer! Norma is the last to get her 10 year medal but she’s getting close! As you can see, it’s like family here….we don’t let go!
Most of you will know Norma before you come in, as she is likely to make your appointment, give you directions, figure out your insurance and make you feel welcome all before you walk in the door.
Norma has also spearheaded our IPL/RF treatments for Dry Eye Syndrome and styes. She can completely educate you regarding topical, oral, and IPL options to help with dry eyes, styes, and blepharitis. Norma is the chief IPL/RF technician with our beautiful MDElite IPL/RF device. Her gentle ways make you feel like you’re in a spa. We treat you right!
Norma also works closely with Dr. DeForrest in your contact lens fitting and ordering. She’ll help you to get the right fit!
**Side note: Norma is the chief party organizer.
