Brenda DeForrest, O.D., has been Florida Board certified since 1990. She has been practicing in Orlando for more than 35 years.

She offers complete adult and pediatric eye care, including optical and contact lens fittings, LASIK evaluations, diabetic retinopathy management and glaucoma treatment. She co-manages cataract and LASIK pre & post-operative care with Orlando area surgeons. She also treats ocular emergencies including eye infections, styes, and flashes & floaters.

Dr. DeForrest offers state-of-the-art dry eye syndrome treatment including MDElite IPL/RF treatments, MacuHealth Omega-3 supplementation, and at-home remedies including OPTASE heat masks, lid scrubs, eye drops & gels.

Dr. DeForrest attended the University of Florida and New England College of Optometry, graduating with honors. She completed internships around the world, including Jerusalem, Israel; Albuquerque, NM; and Atlanta, GA.

She completed her residency in 1990 at the Magruder Eye Institute, specializing in ocular disease and postoperative care. Following this residency, Dr. DeForrest trained at Miami Beach Mt. Sinai Medical Center where she was an adjunct clinical professor for The New England College of Optometry.

Dr. DeForrest is a clinical examiner for the Florida State Board of Optometry and volunteers for Prevent Blindness Florida, Grace Medical Home, and Florida Special Olympics.
